In one of the points in this week's message on THE POWER OF FAITH I contrast a Christian and non-Christian worldview.
It would seem that there are many areas in our lives (and thoughts) where it is quite challenging to separate out our understanding of how the world operates with what the Bible teaches. Any thoughts? Pastor Laurie Join with us this Sunday at 10:30 AM as we celebrate Easter Sunday, that marvelous event that changed the world forever.
The Easter message is the central message of the Gospel faith; providing hope and dispelling fear for all those who put their trust in risen Savior. It is a message that is always relevant, and a message that continues to provide assurance and trust for those who believe. Come celebrate Good Friday with us this Friday, April 15 th at 11 AM, as we join with Wiesenthal and Calmar Baptist churches. The service will be *** at Wiesenthal Baptist *** Take Highway 2 South to the Glen Park Road, then proceed East to the first intersection (Range Road 253). Turn South and you will see the church in approximately 3 kilometers. Look forward to seeing you there! Let's remember to pray for what is going on in the Ukraine.
Let us also remember that our God is in control, and that His Sovereign control extends to both believers and non-believers. Continue to pray for Russia, their leadership and citizens as well - we know that many Russian citizens are saddened by these events as well. Here are a couple of links to support faith based and directed support to the Ukraine : Samaritans Purse Canada Samaritan's Purse Canada - International Relief (samaritanspurse.ca)/ North American Baptis Conference Relief Fund: Ukraine Crisis Fund – North American Baptists, Inc. (nabconference.org) You may have noticed that I have not posted sermon messages since February 13 th.
I had experienced a bout with Covid, which I am now recovering from. Beginning February 13 we will be starting a new sermon series, looking at the Book of Acts. I look forward to sharing with you from God's Word as we celebrate the wonderful work of God's Spirit, from that first Pentecost in Acts Chapter 2 through to the present. Blessings, Pastor Laurie I am sure that for many these past couple of years have been trying and challenging.
I would encourage you to make a New Year's resolution to read your Bible each day, pray, and join with others in weekly worship. I am sure that these simple activities will make a positive and significant difference in your life. Blessings, Pastor Laurie Welcome to the Christmas Season for 2021!
This Sunday we will be looking each successive weeks on the traditional themes of ADVENT, Hope, Love, Joy, Peace, and Light - made possible through what Christ has done for us. Join our messages on-line, or better yet in-person as we celebrate advent for this year! This Sunday our message title is "SUBMISSION & SUFFERING." We look at the reality and role of suffering in the life of the believer from 1 Peter 3:13-22.
Beginning next week we will take a break from our look at 1 Peter, as we prepare for Advent. Look forward to keeping connected! We are continuing our Sunday messages from the book of 1 Peter.
As we navigate uncertain times we can draw comfort and guidance from the Apostle Peter's writings. Peter wrote to believers that, just as we are today, were facing challenging times. Join with us as we learn and grow from God's Word. |
