Each year Rabbit Hill Church joins with other area churches for a combined Good Friday Service.
This year we are joining with Century Meadows in Camrose for their online service. Here is a link to our "Century Meadows Baptist Church" YouTube Channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJLRKQPpRlBGR_33SLv5gag The Good Friday service will go "live" at 10:00am on Good Friday. If that link does not work go to YouTube and search "Century Meadows Baptist Church" ... then click on "Subscribe" and then all of our content will be available If you have been following the news (ie GLOBAL) in the last while or so you might think that almost everybody is in support of Canada's Euthanasia laws. NOT SO! There is widespread concern from faith groups regarding the removal of critical safeguards from the February 17.21 passing of bill C-7. The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) sent an email that is worth reading. They have also provided two short YouTube links (only about 2.5 minutes) worth watching. One is from the EFC (Urgent Action on C-7) which gives a call to action on what you can do to voice your concern.
The other is called MAKE A CALL FOR CONSCIENCE which shows the concerns many Doctors have concerning the bill. The links for these are found below and I would encourage you to watch them. (Also included is The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms concerns - a short read). In this Sunday's message we will be looking at how a proper understanding of Biblical teaching would eliminate racial tension. Watch "FROM ONE BLOOD."
Last week in our online message we looked at the three Divinely appointed institutions established by God - The Family, Human Government, and the Church. This week, as we prepare to celebrate Family Day, we look at three reasons to celebrate family.
The Canadian Religious Freedom Summit produced an outcome statement to encourage reframing bill C-6 to make it more coherent and in keeping with maintaining rights to religious freedom. The statement also is helpful in understanding a faith based perspective on conversion therapy. The Link can be found here:
Previously I had posted a link to an article regarding confusion around transgender ideology.
However, I do not wish to add to the confusion by implying transgenderism as an established fact. I have added an additional link to a 2017 Globe and Mail article reinforcing the traditional view of sex as a binary (male and female). This is in line with the traditional Biblical interpretation of human sexuality. In my last blog I posted on confusion surrounding Bill C-6.
Transgender discussion is complicated by, at least in part, confusion regarding the relationship between sex and gender. I have posted a link below to help understand the ideological challenges that are involved even amongst many within the transgender movement. There has been a lot of confusion around the call at all levels of government to ban CONVERSION THERAPY through Bill C-6.
The Edmonton Area Ministerial Association has requested that the Pastors of local churches post a letter to help with clarification of Bill C-6, and it's intent. Below are the links: * Sunday 10:30 AM Services are provided both in-person as well as by ZOOM.
* Bible Study is now provided by ZOOM on Wednesday from 1 PM to 2. *Contact Pastor Laurie for logon information. |
